PRESS RELEASE: ETHAN LOW COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL SEBRING TEST AND RACE WEEKEND AT SEBRING / (Possible S

Young teen Tampa Bay auto racing phenom, Ethan Low, started the weekend on Friday with an official test day with MX-5 Pro Cup Series front running team, Sick Sideways and ended the weekend with a solid sixth place finish in the 60+ car spec Miata field at the SCCA Cabin Fever Cure at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Florida.

"This was a really important and busy weekend for me. The opportunity to test an MX-5 Pro Cup car with owner John Dean of Sick Sideways and have my new driver coach, Speed Syndicate’s Chris Vallee, with me during the test day was awesome. I have so craved the opportunity to be fully immersed in a full day of professional coaching and teaching with a pro team and Friday was nothing short of what I had looked forward to. We were deep into data and educating me on the car and by the final session of the day I was able to turn very competitive laps in the MX-5 Cup car. John, of course, had a super car for me and knows the MX-5 car and Sebring track as well as anyone and John and Chris together helped get me up to speed very quickly. The biggest adjustment for me was learning how to run for the first time with an anti-lock braking system in a race car. They talked me through the adjustments and it was so neat to be able to get right back on track and make those adjustments and see my racing times improve."

Following the test day, Ethan Low joined his Spec Miata racing team, Old Dogs Racing and had an eventful weekend that ended up a successful one with a sixth place finish in the huge 60+ car field at Sebring International Raceway. After a fast Saturday morning practice Low ran into an issue with the car during qualifying which set him all the way back to 27th for the start of Saturday’s 20 minute sprint race. Low found his way forward making 18 passes to finish 9th in Saturday’s race. Low then started 11th in the Sunday race and quickly moved up to sixth. After dealing with some engine misfires during mid-race, the car came back around and propelled Low to an impressive sixth place finish. Low shared, "I had to talk to her (his #44 green and black spec Miata) quite a bit during the race. She was so strong at the beginning of the race that I had the confidence that we could get up front and contend for the race win. She had a few laps there in the middle where she just didn’t want to cooperate and so I took what she would give me and eventually she settled down and we finished strong. My only disappointment was that my teammate Mark Gibbons wasn’t able to finish the race and earn the top 10 he deserved. He was fast all race and we were running together a good chunk of the race. He had his engine overheat with two laps to go and he had to pull off or Old Dogs Racing would have had two solid top 10 runs on Sunday."

Ethan Low is working to put the final touches on his pro racing plans for 2014 and looks forward to making a major announcement soon. He does have an offer to compete in the USF-2000 race in the St. Pete Grand Prix this March pending finding sponsorship funding for the race.

If you or your business could benefit by a marketing effort at the St. Pete Grand Prix with the connection to Ethan Low as a young, talented, local driver, Low would like to share with you how he can help make that happen together.
